  10. I decided to upgrade my wife's A500 with a 3.1 ROM. I had previously 
  11. done this with my A2000 with good success.  The A500 won't boot up with
  12. the new ROM though.  I have jumpered pins 1 and 31 as the instructions
  13. directed.

  15. I tried the ROM in my A2000 and it works fine (without the pins jumped).

  17. The A500 will not boot with the 3.1 ROM with pins jumped or not...

  19. When the A500 is turned on with the 3.1 ROM, it usually displays a
  20. pink screen and there is no disk access.

  22. Has anyone else had trouble installing a 3.1 ROM in a Revision 5
  23. motherboard on an A500?

  25. By the way, the tech at De Vine Computer Sales where I purchased the 
  26. 3.1 ROM says that I need to get a Multistart adapter (DKB) and that
  27. will solve the problem.  Is that true?  I hate to invest another $35
  28. to try that experiment...
